SPN Fic: Take It Easy, Eagles Challenge

Title: Take It Easy
Series/Challenge: Eagles
Rating: PG
Characters: A Winchester Brother
Word Count: 124
Warnings/Disclaimer: I don’t have money to even pay court costs, so I’ll just say this belongs to Eric Kripke and be done.
Summary: Just the sound of the wheels meeting the asphalt over and over and over.

The long Arizona highway stretched out before him like a grey ribbon, straight as an arrow and flatter than a penny on a railroad track. His left arm was tanner than his right from always leaning it slightly out the window. He hadn’t had a real shave in two weeks. The Impala was hugged to the road, low-slung and sleek. It had molded itself around his body, making them almost like a singular object, all dust, sweat, metal, and flesh. Coffee cups, discarded maps, and clothes littered the interior. He didn’t really care or notice anymore. He just drove. No radio, no cell, no interruptions—just the sound of the wheels meeting the asphalt over and over and over. He drove for his brother.

I love the ambiguity of this piece - is it Sam thinking of Dean, or Dean heading toward Palo Alto? I like the idea that it's the latter, though I suspect you meant it to be the former. (What can I say? I'm a total Dean!girl.)
I dunno which it is. Sometimes I read it and say Sam and other times it's Dean. :)
Thanks friend!
Yay! I'm glad you liked that line, it was one of my favorites.
Nicely done. Great imagery and details throughout, and I love the last line. :)
Thanks! That's the line I was worried about. The others are real meaty and pretty, then that one just sits there, lol.
I think it works great. A nice contrast to the other lines, and it conveys a lot about their relationship in just a few words.
I love this! The imagery just drives me wild!!
Eee! Thanks, dear.
I really liked the imagery in this. Very nice. :)
Thank you!
I really liked this. I like not knowing who it is. I automatically picture Dean (because we are both Dean girls and the story includes the Impala), but I could just as easily see this as Sam. Very nice.

"It had molded itself around his body, making them almost like a singular object, all dust, sweat, metal, and flesh. "
That line was amazing.
Yay! Thanks friend.
